Short Course Precious Metal

20th ∙ October ∙ 2010

I had been out of the design world for almost a year taking care of my family and the business.  It was stressful, difficult at times, pressured and but also different.  My father wasn’t able to work and so I became a full time Tailor!  It was so great to learn a new skill and to be able to help my family and work so close together.  It was really great!  My father got better and some time after, very recently, he slowly returned to work, and so, it was time for me to return to the design world!  and how?

I questioned and questioned myself and what I really wanted to do and how to emerge once again.
I needed a project, something new and fresh and something that could really take my mind to a different place to create something new.
Of course! a short course.  This week I adventured in a precious metal workshop working with Sterling Silver, brass and copper.  It was really great.  I love working with material and in a workshop.  It is all about the detail for me.

So now in this two day course I was really excited to get stuck in, and that is exactly what we did!

It was a great experience.  The great thing was I realised my thought process is a lot faster then I thought!  By the first half an hour I already had four designers I wanted to create!

Below you can see the pieces I had made over two days, they are based on the love and life I feel and see:

more to come… what this space!
