Hello curiousme readers,
It has been busy busy busy on this side of London.
Working as a Freelance Designer in London really has opened my eyes to so many different industries and the insider knowledge.
For quite a few years now I have had the pleasure working with Artist and sculpture visionary Nick Turvey. Recently the creation of two pieces had come about and installation day had never gone so well. With drawing, creating, modelling, trucking and a few tweaks the pieces are sitting together and complementing each other like they are two peas in a pod.
They are held at the Fitzwilliam Museum Sculpture Promenade 2010 and on display until 25th October 2010. So if you’re ever in Cambridge and want a sight for your eyes they are all there standing tall on the front grounds.
Enjoy.
More images to be featured on on my website soon.

Hello readers,
This is another edition of the Curiousme world.
Happy New year to you all! 2010 has come round and boy has it come round fast!
There are so many things I want to do and have plans for but first things first, I have a pen to paper and every year I do the same thing, write my resolution so I can see myself write it and have it stored as a conscience so I don’t make the same mistake twice and begin to have a fulfilling life making each year is better!
I can not believe it is 2010 or as we say twenty - ten! It is strange to think, ten years ago aged 16 I was in art class in college learning about perspective drawing, designing and poster for 2010 the future. Flying cars, angled skyscrapers, strange clothing and smoke scenes were what was shown, it seems like a very long time ago and 2010 is something of the future. A far future that has come around so fast that it is now the present.
This makes me question everything ~ the way we are living and the thoughts of the now future beyond 2010. How far are we from flying cars and skyscrapers? Do movies like Back to the Future and Transformers encourage us to think technology is so close to cracking these codes?
Back to the Future was released 3rd July 1985 and goes back to the past by mistake to then have made his life better in the future, his life in 1985. Back to the Future II is what is really interesting; it focuses on the future of Marty Mcfly and his kids in the year 2015. Where there are flying cars, hova boards in replacement of skateboards and where Nike sneakers and jackets resize themselves with a computer chip and finally the Delorean becomes a flying car powered by trash.
2015 is closer then ever, can we ever meet these assumptions that were made in 1985? In the last 10 years technology has moved mobile phones to touch screens, our laptops with a better system of longer lasting battery life and cars to electric cars. Sneakers and shoes are still the same with brightly coloured layers and clothing are fitted with sizes which still confuse us all as we walk into different shops.
In fact 2009 had moved fashion from couture fashion - Chanel black and suits to the way fashion used to be in the 80's - big hair and brightly coloured clothing, shinny leggings and long t-shirts with big slogans. Fashion for 2010 is predicted to move along this course with bright colours, but maybe slicker designs, summer will be full of suffer looking clothing fit to wear in the work place and phones will continue to develop in shape and usability, voice activating with computer finger tip and eye identification.
So when can we predict this future of flying cars and electronic fashion? Experiments have been seen by some artists and fashion designers on the run way, but they are experiments. One thing I have learnt is the world moves together, Apple one of the big names on the market releases an iPod touch and iphone and world goes wow. Other phone companies follow. But as a consumer this to me seems like we are being eased into this new technology.
So what can we predict for 2015? For me, the world will be working together to make a better future. The buzz will be 'Eco friendly' and keeping the world alive for us, our children and our children’s children. This is what it is all about, Living better for a fuller life and creating new things to make a better life and world.
2010 is a year of new begins adventures and living life.
Have you made your resolutions this year?
Cheerful and jolly times to you all and happy New Year!

Hello readers,
It's the day after Christmas and I’m sure the smiles and cheers are out!
This year I did all my Christmas shopping online and boy was it a different experience, I am all about Christmas cheer and buying gifts from me to you with love, but from previous shopping years at Christmas I decided to try something different, and this was totally different!
Christmas shopping online was great, I mean really great with a capital 'G'. No crowds, no pushing or bag bumping and definitely no queues or strange looks from cashiers!
Am I a changed shopper?
For sure I am, happy as Larry!
So for all of you that was ever wondering about internet shopping, here are a few tips to make life a bit more distressful at Christmas, especially for all you Londoners:
A. You have the internet at your finger tips, get your mouse out and plug this little puppy in for some distressing on you finger tips and hands ready for wrapping
B. When looking for gifts, compare products from different shops, you may be surprised about that woolly hat you saw in Selfridges compared to the one in Topman - there are so many different styles out there and quality of material you may have not notices before.
C. If you are not worried about time and can wait a week before Christmas to purchase your gifts then wait! Many stores tend to put a last minute sale on. A good way to keep in the know is by signing up to the sites newsletter which will notify you when the sale has started, a downfall is this notifies the many other purchasers, therefore look for your gifts early and get in there quick for a save on your lovely gifts.
D. Wrapping paper is an item that usually takes a chunk out of your budget, especially if you have many gifts big and small. To get around this look out for deals in Boots chemist 3 for 2 and they're pretty good on the prints they release! Alternatively if you have small gifts and like working with your hands then your could print your own, it would be an illustration black and white, a photo or kick it old style with cut out Christmas trees, glitter and holly leaves to give it a personal touch.
E. The old Christmas card to a love one or neighbour, it can be tricky to find many different cards in a pack and personal ones, unless you get a pack of 30 cards just to use four! (Yes I had done this a few years ago and still have 26 of them left!). Therefore head to the art should pick up some coloured paper and card and make your own. If you are feeling a bit more Christmassy you could make cookies and ginger bread men with messages in icing! The added bonus is... they are yummy!
F. and last but not least, make sure you are on trusted sites before you purchase and plug in your card number. Although this is Christmas time and many are full of cheer, there are many who like to take away that cheer with a fake site with too good to be true deals!
So enjoy these tips and Christmas year 2009 until next year!
I hope you all had a marvellous and exciting Christmas with yummy food and fun!
Ginger bread men and icing to you all

Hello readers,
So it is the end of the week and lots has happened! New Illustrations has been completed, Transport for the future has been discussed and a Live Studio session has been watched! Yes people Fashion Designer Gareth Pugh was LIVE Today at this very moment 11:00pm designing a dress for all us to watch and learn! There isn’t many times that you can say that you have watched a professional make a dress?
It was so fascinating.
But then my internet cut out, it was my service it was my BT phone line. It went down and it went down hard! 3 days later I finally got it working with a BT engineering hanging off the phone line sorting it out for me.
Unfortunetly I missed the dress making but got to see pictures from the even posted up on Twitter.

Hello readers,
This is another edition of the Curiousme world.
I love photos and capturing from different angles and spaces. In particular film but this time round on a trip to Paris last year, I went with a small digital camera (my Cannon Powershot S70). I went to restaurants, all the tourist sights and met many different people and got a taste of how it would be to live in Paris. Recently I got a message from someone requesting one of my Paris photos to be put forward for a possible featured in the Schmap Guide ninth edition, of course I jumped up at the opportunity and found today a great email, telling me my photo of the Basilica of Sacré-Coeur has been selected and is now featured!
This great news makes me feels great and realise that there are such great opportunities out there even if you start off with the small ones the big ones are soon to follow.
To see the feature visit the Schmap Guide ninth edition here.

Hello Curiousme readers ~ My name is Pinar Djemil and I am a silent designer working in London. Well until now! ... I have wondered for years what it might be like to have a website where I write my thoughts and show interesting things, but I have always been dubious about what to write on the World Wide Web and who is watching. Until a few months ago after writing on Twitter, I realised why be so silent! So finally I have taken a jump and decided to make this website and dedicate it to my journies as a Freelance Designer working and living in London.
So hope you enjoy this first of many news pieces.
